Mountain Men

Mountain Men patrols the Oudevlei entrance area (extending from the entrance south to Baalen Walk, north to the Shearwater boundary and east to Mullet Close)

For January and February there will be 2 guards on duty 5 nights per week from 6pm through the night until 6am. They are very flexible and are prepared to shift patrol days if there is a change in the crime pattern. If crime shifts to the day, they are prepared to move to day patrol to block it.

What happens on 1 March will depend on the number of people who have signed up for the security scheme.

If all goes according to plan, and we get sufficient people signed up, we will get a 3rd guard to patrol during the day from Monday to Friday. The fee is set at R85 per month. Everyone who buys into the scheme will receive a small Mountain Men board to put on their wall, so that the guards on patrol know which houses are in the scheme and which are not.

If you have not signed up with Mountain Men yet, but feel you will benefit from their presence, please join by doing one of the following:

1. download a contract from the San Marina website (www.sanmarina.co.za)

2. phone Mountain Men on (021) 700-3159 and arrange for someone to drop a form off with you

3. email Jane at Mountain Men (janer@mountainmen.co.za) requesting signup forms for the Oudevlei security scheme. Fax: (021) 700-3157.

4. sms me on 084 9583953 (don't phone this number as usually off), stating your address and I will drop a form at your house

When you have completed the form either:

1. Fax to Mountain Men (Keep original someone will collect it from you later).

2. Scan & email to Mountain Men (janer@mountainmen.co.za) (Keep original  someone will collect it from you later)

3. Deliver to 94 Shearwater

If we don't control crime in our area, the criminals will continue to.
